The letter grades that can be earned for the course represent the following levels of performance.
A: Excellent Performance: Consistent High-Quality Work
Assignments, papers, projects, and other course requirements are of excellent quality, and the student contributes substantially to class discussion.
B: Good Performance: Consistent Acceptable-Quality Work
Assignments, papers, projects, and other course requirements are of good quality. The student contributes positively to class discussion.
C: Adequate Performance: Inconsistent Acceptable-Quality Work
Assignments, papers, projects, and other course requirements are adequate. The student contributes inconsistently to class discussion.
D or F: Poor Performance: Inconsistent or Poor-Quality Work
Either some assignments, papers, projects, and other course requirements are not completed, are late, or are of poor quality. The student does not contribute or contributes negatively to class discussion.
I expect that you will approach each assignment seriously, investing the necessary time and energy to prepare your response. Here is a description of possible evaluation responses to your course assignments.
Excellent Assignment: Thoughtful, Insightful
Outstanding work will exhibit comprehensive and thoughtful understanding of the content of the assignment. The work will likely show significant insight into, and understanding of, how mathematics, technology, teaching, and learning interrelate. The work will be coherent and well written.
Good Assignment: Solid Effort
Good work will reflect a solid understanding of the content of the assignment. The work may not exhibit original perspectives on the connections among mathematics, technology, teaching, and learning. The work will be coherent and well written.
Adequate Assignment: Minimal Requirements
Adequate work will either satisfy the requirements of the assignment while missing the spirit of the assignment, or it will be an incomplete rendering of the assignment (with the completed parts showing good or excellent work). The work may contain inconsistencies or demonstrate a lack of thought towards the content. It may be incoherent or poorly written.
Poor Assignment: Does Not Fulfill Requirements
Poor work will not match the content of the assignment. The work will demonstrate a lack of understanding of the assignment.
