Finals Study Night

The Actuarial Club welcomes all students to Finals Study Night on Sunday, May 5, 2019, 5-7 p.m., in a room yet to be determined.

2019 Actuarial Banquet

The 2019 Actuarial Banquet will take place on Friday, May 3, 2019, at the Bloomington/Normal Marriott. Our special guest will be Mr. Stephen Kern, former President of the American Academy of Actuaries, former actuary at State Farm, now retired, and our program alumnus. Our special speaker will be Mr. Charles Johnson, our program alumnus who is an actuary at State Farm. Students are asked to register at: http://smartURL.it/ActuarialBanquet.

On Tuesday, April 16, 2019, 4 p.m. in Stevenson Hall room 401, Gary Wang, FCAS, from Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, will make a presentation about stochastic reserving. Open to all students.

Presentation on health insurance reserving at State Farm

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, 4 p.m. in Williams Hall room 1F, Sarah Kline and Grant Wilken from State Farm will make a presentation about health insurance reserving. Open to all students. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.

Actuarial Club elections for the 2019/2020 academic year will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 6 p.m. in Stevenson Hall room 401A.

On Monday, April 1, 2019, 6 p.m. in room 101 in Stevenson Hall, David Holden from State Farm will make a presentation about rate indications and credibility. Open to all students. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.

Volunteering for Midwest Food Bank

On Saturday, March 30, 2019, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. a group of students will volunteer at Midwest Food Bank. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Mr. Zachary Lew, Actuarial Club's Vice President for Volunteer Efforts.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2019, 6 p.m. in Stevenson Hall room 401, Lisa Pankau, FCAS, from Zurich Insurance will make a presentation on different roles of actuaries at her company. Open to all students. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.

Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity

On Saturday, February 16, 2019, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. a group of students will volunteer at Habitat for Humanity to help build their 25th house. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Mr. Zachary Lew, Actuarial Club's Vice President for Volunteer Efforts.

How To Pass Actuarial Exams

On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, 6 p.m. in Stevenson Hall room 101, Actuarial Club President Kristen Marshall and Actuarial Club officers Ellie Cheline and Levi Triplo will make a presentation on studying for and passing professional actuarial examinations . Open to all students. Casual dress code. Study snacks will be provided.

State Farm Trivia Night

On Monday, February 11, 2019, 6 p.m. in Stevenson Hall room 101, representatives  from State Farm will make a presentation about their company in the form of a Trivia Quiz. Open to all students. Casual dress code. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided.

First Spring 2019 Actuarial Club General Meeting

On Monday, January 28, 2019, at 6 pm in Stevenson Hall room 101, the Actuarial Club will hold its first general meeting for the Spring 2019 semester. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided. Open to all students.
