Textbook Information
In Mathematics, we are providing students with several options for a textbook. First, we are using the online system, Enhanced WebAssign. Access to this system will be required for these courses. In particular, you will be required to have an access code with access to the e-books Calculus: Early Transcendentals, 8th Edition and Calculus: Early Transcendentals, 7th Edition by James Stewart. (Your instructor will also provide you with a class key for this system.) We also require you have a calculator with a computer algebra system and we strongly recommend the TI-89 calculator, which should be available for purchase from a number of different retailers. Additional purchases are not required, but are at the student's option and will depend on individual learning styles, budgets, and intended major/minor.
Access to the Enhanced WebAssign is free for the first 14 days from when the instructor indicates the beginning of the class. As such, the Mathematics Department is recommending that you delay purchase of materials for your calculus class until you have gone to class and you have had a chance to weigh your options more carefully.
Below, we discuss the various options available for this course. These are available at the campus bookstores, The Alamo II and Barnes and Noble's ISU store as well as from the publisher Cengage.
